I am a Ph.D. candidate in Risk Management and Insurance (with minor in Economics) at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I will be on the job market in 2021-22.

My broad research interests include decision making under risk, climate risk, and reinsurance. I use empirical and analytical methods to study how people and firms make risk management decisions. My current research focuses on the implications of forecast improvements for risk management.

In my earlier avatar, I worked for nine years in financial services and risk management industry. My last role was the Director and Head of Risk Analytics at Northern Arc Capital (formerly IFMR Capital), where I specialized in credit risk transfer using structured products such as securitization. Before IFMR Capital, I was a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Risk Management division in Dubai and Muscat.

I have a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Physics from IIT Bombay and an MBA in Finance from IIM Lucknow. I am also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP, USA.
