SUMMARY:KIRC-Wisconsin Joint AI Research Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Connecting Academia and Industry to Advance Impactful and Responsible AI Research\n\n\n\nArtificial intelligence (AI) is fundamentally reshaping competition\, innovation\, and organizational design\, but its greatest potential lies at the intersection of academic rigor and industry application. This joint roundtable\, organized by Korean Innovation Research Center (KIRC) and the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) at UW–Madison\, brings together industry leaders and innovation scholars to explore how collaboration with industry can advance impactful AI research while preserving theoretical depth. \n\n\n\nAs organizations extensively deploy generative\, predictive\, and agentic AI across business processes\, they face challenges around governance\, intellectual property\, ethics\, and transformation. These issues create opportunities for scholars to engage with real-world problems\, access novel data\, and develop research that both informs practice and contributes to theory. \n\n\n\nAt the same time\, industry benefits from the methodological rigor and long-term perspective of scholarly research. Bridging these perspectives requires new models of collaboration that balance openness with confidentiality and speed with rigor. \n\n\n\nThis roundtable aims to spark dialogues\, identify shared research agendas\, and build lasting partnerships: all to help shape a more integrated and impactful ecosystem for AI research. \n\n\n\n\nRegister today\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration required by May 29. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nWestin Seoul ParnasAmber Room524 Bongeunsa-roGangnam District (COEX)Seoul\, South Korea \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIndustry Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSoomin BaeFormer Senior Vice President and Director\, AI Future Lab\, KT\n\n\n\n\n\nKangwook LeeChief AI Officer\, Krafton\n\n\n\n\n\nDylan Younghyuk KoCEO\, Gonnector\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAcademic panelists\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeung Hyun KimProfessor\, Yonsei University\n\n\n\n\n\nPage MoreauAssociate Dean of Research and John R.
