Start your business journey a step ahead.\n\n\n\nThe Business and Math (BAM) Bridge program is an early-start program for incoming first year students\, built to boost your math skills and set you up for success in your first semester of math at UW–Madison and beyond. \n\n\n\nIn the program\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nRefresh and strengthen your math skills.\n\n\n\nMeet and learn from UW–Madison instructors and clued into campus resources. \n\n\n\nGain access to ALEKS\, an online math skill development program.\n\n\n\nParticipate in a mini business case competition.\n\n\n\nBuild connections with other first year students.\n\n\n\nRetake the placement exam on the final day—and hopefully improve your score!\n\n\n\n\nWith a higher placement score\, you can enroll in a more advanced math course and set you up for a stronger start to your college career. Business is a quantitative field\, and we want you to thrive in math during your time at UW–Madison. \n\n\n\nReady to improve your math placement?\n\n\n\nRegister using the form linked below by August 1! (Late submissions are not accepted.) \n\n\n\nSign up for BAM \n\n\n\nWhen you sign up\, you’ll receive a confirmation email and an email containing your ALEKS program license to help you prepare ahead of the program. Please watch your wisc.edu email in July/early August for next steps. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram details\n\n\n\nEligibility\n\n\n\nIf you’re an incoming first year student who placed into a pre-calculus course\, BAM is for you! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nIf you would like more details about programming or the time commitment\, you can view the BAM schedule here.  Please check back closer to the event date for the most up-to-date information. \n\n\n\nYou must participate in all scheduled programming\, including Saturday and Sunday. \n\n\n\nIf you have other UW–Madison obligations\, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHousing\n\n\n\nIf you’re living in a UW–Madison residence hall\, you will be assigned an early move-in date/time during the morning of Wednesday\, August 19. \n\n\n\nIf you have questions or if August 19 doesn’t work for you\, reach out to us: successandpolicy@wsb.wisc.edu. \n\n\n\nIf you have issues with move-in logistics\, contact the Residence Life staff: reslife@housing.wisc.edu. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMeals\n\n\n\nLunch will be provided throughout program (August 20–27). On move-in day (August 19)\, funds for an evening meal will be provided. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\nThe program is free! However\, there is a fee to move into the dorms early ($280)\, and there may be other expenses that come with living in Madison before school starts. \n\n\n\nScholarships to cover the early move-in fee are available. If you need financial support\, please indicate on your sign-up survey. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSet yourself up for success with ALEKS\n\n\n\nWhen you sign up for BAM\, you’ll gain access to an online math skill development program called ALEKS. This program will help you brush up on your skills so you’re ready to take on the pre-calculus curriculum covered in BAM. \n\n\n\nWe will be hosting several virtual Q&A sessions about ALEKS. These sessions will take place on Zoom: \n\n\n\n\nTuesday\, June 16 | 11 a.m.-12 p.m.\n\n\n\nWednesday\, July 1  | 11 a.m.–12 p.m.\n\n\n\nFriday\, July 17  | 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.\n\n\n\n\nAccess the Zoom sessions here! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo not re-take the placement exam before attending BAM.\n\n\n\nYou only get one opportunity to re-take the math placement exam. Where can I park on game day? Parking on campus can be a challenge on game day. Always give yourself extra time to allow for traffic and parking. In addition to nearby city lots\, UW Athletics sells football parking (including accessible parking) in advance on a season basis\, and on a single-game basis for accessible parking only. Click the link contained in the email that will contain your ticket information. That email will contain a link to confirm your tickets. Click the link contained in the email and log in to (or create) your Wisconsin Athletics Ticket account. Once confirmed\, these tickets will be accessible to you via your mobile phone’s web browser and through the Wisconsin Badgers app. It is recommended that you download your tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay app for ease of access on game day. Football tickets cannot be printed and will only be considered valid if shown on a mobile device. Screenshots or pictures of tickets will not be considered valid for entry.
