He currently oversees a team responsible for managing GM’s allocation to Absolute Return Strategies\, Real Estate\, and Private Equity across several GM domestic and international pension plans.  Mark has been a member of the Absolute return Strategies team since inception and has added the responsibilities of private equity and real estate more recently. His primary responsibilities include due diligence\, risk management and portfolio construction. Mark also sits on a several internal committees (Investment Management and Operational Risk Management) and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for an international pension plan.  \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, while at GM\, Mark has managed GM’s Equity program\, a Global Tactical Asset Allocation program and the trading room. Mark joined GMAM in 1999\, where his initial responsibilities were in risk management until his transition into the Absolute Return Strategies Group. Prior to joining GMAM\, Mark worked at Bankers Trust Company in their Investment Consulting and Risk Management Groups.   \n\n\n\nMark received a BA in Economics and an MBA from Rutgers University. Mark is a Chartered Financial Analyst.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnna Burckhardt\, Vice President\, Oak Hill Advisors L.P. \n\n\n\nAnna Burckhardt is a Vice President on the US Credit team at Oak Hill Advisors. Prior to joining Oak Hill in 2021\, she was a High Yield Credit Analyst at Barclays. Anna started her career in 2018 as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoseph Buss\, Managing Director\, TPG Capital \n\n\n\nJoseph Buss is a Managing Director at TPG Capital based in Chicago\, where he focuses on fundraising as part of the Client and Capital Formation group. Prior to joining TPG in 2020\, Joe was at PJT Park Hill where he focused on private equity\, credit and infrastructure fundraising. Before Park Hill\, Joe was a member of the Credit Suisse Private Fund Group\, and prior to that had spent nine years at Goldman Sachs. Joe received his BBA from the University of Wisconsin Madison\, and his MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrad Charchut\, Partner\, Bain Capital \n\n\n\nMr. Charchut has over 30 years of experience in leveraged lending. He is a Partner at Bain Capital in the $54B Credit business where he is responsible for private debt capital markets and new business origination in North America\, including private equity sponsor coverage. Previously\, Mr. Charchut was a Senior Director at Cerberus Capital where he originated\, underwrote\, and syndicated senior and subordinated financing for private equity sponsors. Prior to Cerberus\, Mr. Charchut was a Vice President in Merchant Banking Syndications at Heller Financial and structured leveraged loan transactions at BT Alex. Brown and First Chicago NBD. Mr. Charchut received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. from Northwestern University.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTom Dircks\, Private Equity Associate\, One Rock Capital \n\n\n\nTom Dircks is an Associate of One Rock Capital Partners\, LLC. Prior to joining One Rock\, Mr. Dircks was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey. Mr. Dircks earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAJ Ervin\, Associate\, Falfurrias Management Partners \n\n\n\nMr. Ervin joined Falfurrias Management Partners as an Associate in 2025. Previously\, Mr. Ervin served as an Analyst at Evercore in New York. While at Evercore\, Mr. Ervin focused on GP-led advisory and secondaries transactions as a member of the Private Capital Advisory group. Mr. Ervin is a 2023 graduate from the University of Wisconsin\, and received a BBA in Finance\, Investment & Banking.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMax Gantman\, Private Equity Associate\, Altamont Capital Partners \n\n\n\nMax Gantman is a Private Equity Associate at Altamont Capital Partners\, where he focuses on investments in industrials and business services. He recently leveraged his private equity experience to acquire a small business in the San Francisco Bay Area.  \n\n\n\nMax serves on the Advisory Board of Access Distributed\, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to careers in finance\, and remains an active advocate for the Badger community. He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison\, where he majored in Finance and Insurance and minored in Computer Sciences.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDarryl Lewis\, Operating Partner\, Banneker Partners \n\n\n\nDarryl Lewis is an Operating Partner at Banneker Partners\, focusing on driving operational excellence and value creation. Mr. Lewis was previously the Chief Technology Officer at STATS\, a Vista Equity Partners portfolio company. Prior to STATS\, he was the Managing Director of Product & Technology for Vista Equity Partners\, where he led technology due diligence and portfolio-wide value creation\, collaborating closely with management teams to implement best practices across Vista’s entire portfolio of companies\, including Websense\, Tibco\, Mitratech\, Lanyon\, DealerSocket\, ACTIVE Network\, Omnitracs\, Newscycle (now Naviga)\, Aptean\, Greenway\, Social Solutions\, and STATS. \n\n\n\nMr. Lewis started his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a software engineer\, and spent the bulk of his career at Microsoft where he was a development lead on Excel\, a program management leader on Encarta and MSN\, the lead for a Microsoft cable television joint venture\, and a member of the founding team for the Xbox. Mr. Lewis holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin and is currently a board member for the University of Wisconsin School of Business. He is also a board director of N-able\, Inc. (NABL) and chairman of the N-able cybersecurity committee. Mr. Lewis resides in Seattle with his wife and three sons. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScott Parrish\, Head of Private Equity\, State of Wisconsin Investment Board \n\n\n\nScott joined the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (“SWIB”) in 2005 and has over 29 years of experience working in Private Equity. SWIB is one of the largest U.S. Pension Funds with over $150 billion in assets. Scott leads the Private Equity portfolio\, with a market value of over $22 billion. Prior to joining SWIB\, Scott was a Private Equity Investment Officer for the Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois\, where he spent ten years. Scott received a B.S. in Finance\, cum laude\, from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Illinois. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichael Skelly\, Managing Director\, Lexington Partners \n\n\n\nMichael Skelly is a Managing Director of Lexington Partners primarily engaged in the evaluation of secondary purchases of private equity and alternative investments. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Lexington in 2010\, Mr. Skelly worked at Brevan Howard and prior to that he was an analyst in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Thrivent in 2006\, she worked at ING Investment Management focusing on private debt investments. During his tenure\, Knetter led a variety of initiatives\, including the $4.2 billion All Ways Forward campaign\, the 2014 merger of the UW Foundation and the Wisconsin Alumni Association\, and the modernization of technology and the business model of WFAA. Prior to leading WFAA\, Knetter was dean of the Wisconsin School of Business\, where he orchestrated the novel school naming gift\, the expansion of Grainger Hall\, and the restructuring and improved national standing of the MBA program. \n\n\n\nPrior to UW–Madison\, he was a professor of international economics and associate dean at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He also served as senior staff economist for the Council of Economic Advisers for former presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Knetter is currently a board member for American Family Insurance and Neuberger Berman Funds. Knetter completed his undergraduate studies in economics and mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his PhD in economics at Stanford University. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmmett McCann (BBA ’97) is the co-chief executive officer and co-portfolio manager of Duration Capital Partners. Prior to founding Duration in 2024\, he worked at Oaktree Capital and Highstar Capital. During his career\, McCann has helped lead several major public-private partnerships\, including the 40-year lease of the Luis Munoz Marin Airport in San Juan\, Puerto Rico\, and the 50-year lease and concession agreement at the Seagirt Marine Terminal in Baltimore\, Maryland. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Highstar in 2009\, McCann helped build Morgan Stanley’s infrastructure effort in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley\, he was part of the team that established the infrastructure investment banking practice at Goldman Sachs. He currently serves on the board of directors of Ports America. McCann holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago. He is also a member of the board of Youth\, Inc.\, a leading non-profit focused on building organizations that help children in New York City thrive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVallabh (Samba) Sambamurthy is the Albert O. Sandler (BBA ’91) is the founder\, chief executive officer\, and chief investment officer of Eminence Capital\, LP\, which he founded in 1999. Today\, Eminence is a nearly $8 billion global investment management organization\, investing client capital across global financial markets. As CEO and CIO of Eminence\, Sandler is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction as well as directly managing its 20+ person investment team and diversified investment portfolio. \n\n\n\nPrior to launching Eminence\, Sandler was co-founder and co-general partner of Fusion Capital Management\, a firm that managed a long/short hedge fund focused on global equity securities. Prior to that he was a research analyst at Mark Asset Management\, where he began his investing career in 1991. \n\n\n\nSandler received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance\, graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Sandler developed and teaches a capstone finance course at Wisconsin\, Applied Equity Markets Research\, and launched Badgers in Finance: a professional and recruitment network for UW–Madison students and alumni across financial services. Sandler also serves as an advisor on the Investment Committee for the University of Wisconsin Foundation and is a chartered financial analyst. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmy Schneidkraut (BBA ’01) is senior managing director and head of capital formation at Centerbridge Partners. Schneidkraut joined Centerbridge in 2009 and leads the firm’s business development\, fundraising\, and investor relations efforts globally. She also serves as a member of the firm’s management committee and private equity investment committee. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining Centerbridge\, Schneidkraut was responsible for existing and prospective investor relationships at Satellite Asset Management\, L.P. Prior to Satellite\, Schneidkraut was a vice president of equity prime brokerage sales at Citigroup Global Markets\, Inc.\, where she began as a marketing associate in global prime brokerage and then worked as a vice president of capital introductions. She began her career as an analyst\, with a focus on defined contributions\, at USI Consulting Group\, Inc. \n\n\n\nSchneidkraut serves on the board of directors of The Chick Mission and is a member of the Columbia University Medical Center’s Urology Council. Schneidkraut received a BBA degree from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nColin Welch (BBA ’92) is a managing director and partner at TSG Consumer Partners\, a leading private equity firm with approximately $15 billion in assets under management. TSG partners with founders and management teams to accelerate the growth of best-in-class consumer-facing businesses. At TSG\, Welch is responsible for sourcing and diligencing new investment opportunities\, structuring transactions\, and working closely with partner companies. He also oversees and manages the firm’s New York office. \n\n\n\nWelch brings more than 30 years of experience in the consumer and retail sectors\, both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining TSG\, he was a principal shareholder and served as president and chief operating officer of Financo LLC\, as well as CEO of Financo Europe. In these roles\, he advised companies across a wide range of consumer sub-sectors\, including health and wellness\, hospitality\, fashion and apparel\, footwear and accessories\, luxury goods\, beauty and personal care\, multi-unit retail and services\, and e-commerce\, focusing on growth capital raising and strategic advisory. Earlier in his career\, Welch held investment banking positions at Credit Suisse Europe\, Lehman Brothers Europe\, J.P. Morgan\, and Montgomery Securities\, and he also gained operating experience at The Neiman Marcus Group in both merchandising and management roles. \n\n\n\nWelch earned his MBA from Harvard University and a BBA\, with distinction\, from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. DESCRIPTION:FREE Entrepreneurship Boot Camp:\n\n\n\nThe Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) Precollege Program provides high school students the opportunity to learn more about business majors\, explore their leadership skills\, and participate in applied learning activities. \n\n\n\nThe WSB Precollege program is partnering with StartUp Learning Community this Fall to offer High School students a FREE\, innovative\, fun\, in person entrepreneurship workshop on Saturday\, November 8th\, from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm\, in person at UW-Madison. \n\n\n\nParticipants will work in teams to explore all stages of entrepreneurship from product design to creating a marketing pitch! \n\n\n\nLunch will be provided.   *There is no cost for this activity.
