Greetings SHR alumni, partners, and friends,
Tomorrow is Leap Day. We are curious what you will being doing with the ‘extra’ 24-hours. We hope that you’ll take a few minutes of the bonus day to read about our SHR Center and SHR MBA students. In this issue of our newsletter, we are excited to share more about what we’ve been up to and what’s yet to come this spring. And, if you are so inclined, head on over to our LinkedIn page to take our Leap Day poll.
We began our spring 2024 semester just over a month ago and have been engaged in all things HR since then. Our second-year SHR MBAs are working on their capstone projects and soaking in the last months of their graduate school career; our first years are ‘pros,’ now in their second semester of the program. Some students are interviewing; others are planning for their internship or full-time post-grad careers. Speaking of that, it’s hard to believe graduation is just around the corner. Our second-year SHR MBAs started a days-to-graduation countdown on our Center white board – just as our Class of 2023 did.
Before that celebration, our Center is trekking to Milwaukee. We hope some of you will join us at our networking reception on Thursday, April 4. The RSVP link can be found here and below; we’d love to connect with you, please!
We are also in full-planning mode for our SHR Symposium 2024 and are seeking sponsors for our event. Please let us know if you or your company are willing to help financially – sponsorship comes with valuable benefits, and we have various levels for varying budgets. Information is included below. SHR Symposium 2024 early-bird registration is open too. A number of our speakers and panelists are confirmed; more will be announced soon. It is SHR (pun, intended) to be an engaging and valuable event. We anticipate offering five SHRM PDCs.
Finally, and most importantly, this issue highlights two students and shares student-written blog posts. The overarching theme: our students are learning, engaging, and making a difference. We appreciate the support of our alumni, industry partners, and Center friends who help make this happen. You are an integral component to making the Wisconsin School of Business SHR MBA program exceptional.
On, Wisconsin!
