Dan is Managing Principal, Chief Investment Officer, and Chair of the Investment Committee at Lafayette Street Capital. As CIO, he oversees the firm’s investment strategy and is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and managing private market real estate investments.
Prior to co-founding Lafayette Street Capital, Dan served as Chief Investment Officer of Cadre, a real estate investment manager. Before joining Cadre in 2016, he spent 11 years at GEM Realty Capital, where he led the private acquisitions team and served on the firm’s investment committee, helping to shape investment strategy across public and private real estate investments.
Earlier in his career, Dan was a Vice President at Fortress Investment Group, focusing on the acquisition and origination of equity, mezzanine debt, and other subordinate debt investments secured by real estate assets and operating companies. He also held positions within J.P. Morgan’s Syndicate and Leveraged Finance Group and at Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL).
Dan earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
