Dennis Duerst is President, 3M Investment Management Corporation, an SEC registered investment advisor, and Director of 3M’s Benefit Funds Investment, where he is responsible for all aspects of defined benefit and defined contribution investments totaling over $30 billion. Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Duerst was Director – Financial Risk Management at 3M where he led 3M’s global Capital Markets and Risk Management activities. Mr. Duerst has held a variety of positions, primarily within 3M’s Finance organization, during his 30 year career with the company and has extensive experience in fixed income, international finance, risk management and corporate finance.
Mr. Duerst is a member of the Investment Advisory Council for the Minnesota State Board of Investments, an Executive Committee member of CIEBA, and participates on governance boards of several private equity partnerships and nonprofit boards. He holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
