Tim Babcock was named Vice President, Network Strategy and Transportation in October 2018. In this role he leads the Network Strategy team responsible for distribution center capacity planning, including the multi-year distribution center capital plan to support Grainger’s growth. Tim is also responsible for all facets of transportation in North America, as well as the company’s export, Global Sourcing import, and trade compliance. Tim is the Grainger executive sponsor for recruiting efforts at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and participates on the University of Wisconsin, Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management Executive Advisory Board.

Tim has held several roles of increasing responsibility during his career at Grainger. Prior to his current role, Tim led North American Transportation with responsibility for transportation capacity, service and cost for inbound, internal and outbound operations. Tim also served as Director, Internal Audit where he was responsible for the planning and execution of the internal audit plan in the US and Global Supply Chain organizations. Earlier in his career he was the Financial Analysis Senior Manager for the US Grainger Brand and Government Sales team, providing financial and business leadership of sales coverage pilots, US strategy reviews, and M&A integration.

Tim joined Grainger in 2001 through the college recruiting process as a Financial Development Program (FDP) Analyst. While at Grainger, Tim has held multiple leadership roles with the company’s college recruiting programs including leading the Global Supply Chain and Supplier Management college recruiting team and the Financial Development Program, Grainger’s 3-year rotational program for recent college graduates in Finance and Accounting.

Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and earned an MBA from DePaul University.
