Vice President Community Impact

Madison Community Foundation

Tom is the Vice President of Community Impact at Madison Community Foundation (MCF). At MCF since 2004, Tom has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit world, focusing on arts, higher education, public television and community grantmaking. In his current role he coordinates all competitive and field of interest grantmaking, offers capacity building, counsel and facilitation to non-profits, and serves on the leadership team for the Foundation. Previous roles include Training and Grants Director for the National Center for Outreach, Grants Manager for Wisconsin Public Television, and Foundation/Government Relations Manager for Edgewood College. Tom co-chaired the Board of Madison Area Open Arts Studios. Additional board service includes Leadership Greater Madison Alumni Association, The Evjue Foundation, The Henry Vilas Zoo, and Operation Fresh Start. He is a fellow of The Funders Network PLACES program. Raised by a musician and an actor, Tom is fluent in French and German and is a practicing fine artist, exhibiting his sculpture, mosaics and drawings regularly. He has helped start and lead two artist collaboratives, Three On The Side and ArtsTRIBE. He has a degree in Fine Arts from Brandeis University and has pursued additional coursework at Tufts University, Massachusetts College of Art, Madison College and Edgewood College. Tom is an active educator, teaching arts, marketing and grantsmanship classes.
