As this academic year draws to a close, we have a tremendous amount to be proud of. It has been a year defined by change – much of it driven by campus construction and limited social spaces – but through those challenges, our members have persevered with record-breaking attendance and incredible creativity.
Over the course of the year, we successfully hosted:
- 11 Socials and 11 Volunteering Events
- 50 Lunchtime Discussions
- 14 Employer Presentations
- 6 Mentorship Events
In addition to our standard events, we introduced several unique initiatives that we look forward to making club traditions. We held an International Student Event prior to the career fair to provide vital support regarding the evolving work-visa landscape. We also established semesterly women-only events designed to build a supportive community that persists long after graduation. Finally, we launched our Annual Case Competition specifically targeting first- and second-year students, which allowed us to bring alumni back to campus to judge presentations and reconnect with the club.
Our community is stronger than ever. We ended the year with 271 total members, a substantial increase from last year driven by a growing interest in actuarial science – a trend we are eager to fuel. We are grateful for the dedication our members have shown. This year, we averaged over 30 students at our socials and lunchtime discussions, with attendance climbing above 60 for many of our employer presentations.
Looking ahead, we are excited to foster this momentum with a new board. I am confident they will bring fresh ideas that will continue to benefit the club’s future and professional impact.
Thank you to everyone who supports our program. We would not be able to host these events without your unwavering interest in and dedication to our collective future. While many of us move on to another year of school, several of our peers are graduating into the “real world.” Good luck to them all and thank you once again. This year is one I will never forget.
