The Wisconsin School of Business is proud to recognize Kurt Kober (MBA ’07) with the WSB Impact Award.
This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated service to the Wisconsin School of Business, and have volunteered their time and talent to advance the school’s priorities.
Kober is a longtime supporter of and advocate for WSB, and routinely looks for ways to connect students, alumni, and faculty to opportunities in brand leadership, entrepreneurship, and consumer business. Beyond mentoring countless students and supporting emerging programs, Kober served on WSB’s External Advisory Board from 2021 to 2025, where he worked to enhance the reputation and reach of the school while also shaping its strategic direction and operational priorities.
Throughout his nearly 20-year relationship with WSB, he has been generous with his time, lending his expert perspectives and insights to school events like Badger Executive Talks and Planet, People, Profit: Careers in Corporate Sustainability. He has also become an active partner and mentor with the UW–Madison Tech Exploration Lab, creating opportunities for students to engage with emerging technologies to tackle complex business challenges.
“Kurt’s commitment to championing students, pushing WSB to think bigger, and driving impact in the community—all with a unique warmth and good humor—is truly inspiring,” says Singari Seshadri (MBA ’96), who served alongside Kober on WSB’s External Advisory Board. “His energy and passion are contagious. He is the kind of person you want in your community, on your board, and at your party.”

From the Dean
“Kurt shares my vision that a business school is much more than just a place to get an education. He recognizes WSB as a powerful force that empowers students to build foundational skills and develop relationships that last a lifetime. That philosophy drives his service to UW–Madison and his mission to strengthen the university that gave so much to him. I’m proud to call Kurt a trusted advisor, but I’m even prouder to call him a dear friend.”
