Kelley Kollock puts travel and tourism on a more sustainable path

A leader in the emerging field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG), Kelley Kollock (BBA ’16) is helping one of the world’s largest hotel chains have a positive impact and create responsible travel and tourism initiatives.

After studying marketing and supply chain management at WSB, Kelley developed a deeper interest in sustainability while working with Target’s product design team, which pushed her to explore careers in the ESG field. In 2022, she jumped at the chance to join Hilton and help the company further boost their ESG strategy.

“A big part of the job is working with the 7,000 hotels in our portfolio at Hilton, which is no small feat,” she says. “But I also do a lot of work with our public facing reporting, which is really part of that governance pillar of ESG.”

Through that reporting, Kelley and her team helped land Hilton on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the sixth straight year in 2022.

Doing ESG work for a global hotel chain requires Kelley to wear many hats, but she says her background in supply chain management gives perspective and an advantage in complex work environments.

“It helps you see the whole picture,” she says. “You are really only one piece in what’s often a bigger puzzle, and it’s helpful to have that mindset when looking at challenging scenarios.”
