Tim Hotchandani (BBA ’04) has worked on Wall Street since graduating from the Wisconsin School of Business, now serving as managing director at Rothschild & Co., one of the world’s largest financial advisory firms.
In 2004, Tim was one of three Wisconsin BBA graduates to begin his investment banking career with a full-time job in New York City on Wall Street as an analyst with Thomas Weisel Partners. “An alumnus helped me get my foot in the door with an interview, which was the opportunity I needed to break into the industry,” he says.
Helping students prepare for careers in the industry has been important to Tim since he was a WSB student himself. He co-founded the Investment Banking Club, an organization that helps students develop skills and prepare for interviews with top firms and has been instrumental in helping WSB alumni increase their presence on Wall Street.
He’s also involved with Badgers in Finance, an alumni organization that helps WSB students prepare for careers on Wall Street.
Tim firmly believes in the solid education he received at the WSB, which is why he plays an active role in recruiting new graduates to his firm. “There is no better preparation for a career on Wall Street,” he says.
Tim was one of eight UW–Madison alumni honored by the WAA in 2018 with a Forward under 40 award for excellence in his field and commitment to the Wisconsin Idea.
