December Graduates

Are you planning to graduate this semester? Do you have questions about commencement?


Commencement for all bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degree candidates will be held on Sunday, December 19 at the Kohl Center. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., and graduates will need to be seated by 9:40 a.m. No tickets are required to attend commencement, family and friends are welcome to attend, and there is no limit to the number of guests you may bring. Seating is first-come, first-served and doors will open at 8 a.m.
The WSB will host a breakfast reception for all December 2021 graduates on Sunday, December 19th from 8:00am – 9:30am.  All are welcome.  There will be brief remarks from Dean Samba, Associate Dean Mayhew at 8:30am.
What do I need to do to attend the ceremony? Whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student, this graduate checklist will help you to prepare for the big day.

  • Let us know you are graduating! Complete the apply to graduate application in the Student Center of MyUW. All graduates must complete their applications by November 5, 2021 in order to have their names printed in the commencement program. If you are wondering if you have already applied or want to confirm that your information has been entered correctly, access the graduation application and make any necessary updates.
  • Celebrate in style! Check out the University Book Store’s graduation timeline for information regarding securing a cap and gown for the ceremony. For information regarding financial assistance for your gown rental, visit the commencement website.
