MHR 325: Leadership in Action 

3 credits  |  Wednesdays, 4:00pm – 7:00pm (plus 2 mandatory Saturday field trips)

Must be enrolled as a BBA student.

This experiential course examines the multifaceted nature of leadership in today’s dynamic business environment, with a particular focus on fostering entrepreneurial mindsets, championing inclusive practices, and building individual and organizational resilience. It will cultivate essential leadership skills needed to drive innovation, create equitable workplaces, and persevere through complex challenges.

This course is especially recommended if you plan to declare the Certificate in Business Leadership and have already completed 1-3 courses from the lists below.

NOTE: Beginning Spring 2027, only students who are declared in the Certificate in Business Leadership will be able to take this course. 

This new course coincides with the launch of the new WSB Certificate in Business Leadershipand serves as the core requirement for that Certificate.  Here’s information about the Certificate: 

Certificate in Business Leadership

12 credits  |  Must be enrolled as a BBA student

The Certificate in Business Leadership helps Wisconsin School of Business undergraduates build the leadership skills employers value most—like self‑awareness, teamwork, inclusivity, creative problem‑solving, and resilience. Through courses focused on entrepreneurial mindset, inclusive leadership, and hands‑on experiential learning, students strengthen their ability to lead in today’s dynamic workplaces. Completing the certificate signals to employers that you’ve invested in developing the leadership capabilities that set successful business professionals apart.

Certificate Requirements:

12 credits of coursework; minimum 2.00 GPA earned on required certificate coursework.  At least 50% of the certificate credits must be earned in residence at UW-Madison.  All certificate courses must be graded.
