The Color of Drinking is an exploratory study that examines the direct and indirect impacts of alcohol culture on our undergraduate students, especially students of color and international students. This survey was previously administered in 2015 and 2017 and will be administered again this fall. Your responses will help us better understand how alcohol culture impacts campus climate, belonging, health and wellbeing, retention, and academics.
Look for an email from colorofdrinking@uhs.wisc.edu in November with an invitation to complete the Color of Drinking survey. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, with a mix of qualitative (open response) and quantitative (multiple choice) questions. All responses will be confidential. Complete the survey from November 20, 2023 to January 2, 2024.
Based on previous administrations of the Color of Drinking survey, we recognize that alcohol culture has different impacts on different students, including students of color, international students, and white students at UW–Madison. At UHS, and at UW–Madison more broadly, we have a responsibility to provide a safe, supportive, inclusive campus environment—so all students can thrive.
We encourage your open and honest feedback. Your experiences are valid, and your feedback is crucial for us to understand the impacts of drinking culture at UW–Madison.
