About Philip
Philip Mulder is an assistant professor or risk and insurance at the Wisconsin School of Business UW Madison. Mulder studies how households, insurers, lenders, and governments adapt to dynamic climate risk. He has testified on his research before members of the US Senate, and his findings have been covered in numerous media outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal.
Mulder earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics at Kalamazoo College and completed the General Course at the London School of Economics with a focus on mathematics. He completed his PhD in Applied Economics at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation research won awards from the Academy of Actuaries, the Geneva Association, and American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.
