Winter 2024
Greetings Alumni and Friends of the Weinert Center,
Welcome to our latest newsletter, where we are excited to showcase the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of our community. This edition includes articles introducing Jamie Shah, our newest advisory board member, and featuring the journeys of remarkable student and alumni entrepreneurs. You will also find the latest updates on our campus entrepreneurial initiatives.
In this issue, we are proud to announce the establishment of the Jon Udell and Keith Streckenbach Scholarship. This new endowed scholarship is a significant opportunity for Wisconsin students pursuing entrepreneurship studies. I had the pleasure of meeting Keith, an alumnus of our entrepreneurship program, shortly after I began my tenure as Director of the Weinert Center. During a trip with graduate students to Seattle, Keith shared his invaluable insights and even introduced us to his favorite local bakery, known for its trendsetting cupcakes.
My acquaintance with Jon Udell goes back even further, to my undergraduate days at UW, where he was a renowned marketing professor. Together, Jon and Keith, who collectively hold five UW degrees, have forged a lasting connection since Keith’s student days. Over the years, as their families grew close and their professional achievements soared, they decided to give back to the university that played a pivotal role in their lives.
The Jon Udell and Keith Streckenbach Scholarship is more than financial support; it’s a testament to the power of community and the enduring bond of our UW alumni. Their initiative is set to make a lasting impact on the next generation of Badgers, fostering innovation and success in entrepreneurship. Join us in celebrating this remarkable contribution to our university.
