We are thrilled to highlight Sophie Stout and her journey this week as our student spotlight feature!
Sophie came to the Wisconsin School of Business from Minnetonka Minnesota, receiving her undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management with a certificate in Spanish for Business. The staff and resources at WSB set the school apart, making her decision to continue her education with the Master’s in Science Business Analytics program an easy one.
Diving Into Data
Aside from using excel in coursework and internships, Sophie came into the MSBA program without extensive analytics experience, but knew expanding on these skills would be valuable for her future work. “It does not matter what you have a background in; this program is truly for anyone who is interested in acquiring this skillset” she shares. The faculty “understand that students are coming in with different backgrounds, goals, and experiences, and truly tailor the individual experience to what you look to get out of it.”
Putting Skills to Work
Sophie has already enhanced her familiarity with numerous coding platforms and she looks forward to the program’s many experiential learning opportunities ahead. After graduation, she is excited to begin her role at KPMG in their Chicago office as an Associate Consultant and apply what she will learn in her classes and consulting capstone project. While she is still in Madison, Sophie enjoys trying fun restaurants and enjoying the beautiful lakeshore path.
