The Learning Commons

As of July 1st, the Undergraduate Program is responsible for operational management of the Learning Commons.  We are excited to bring this integral space fully under WSB management and to explore future opportunities to further the Learning Commons mission and enrich the experience of our Business Badgers.

Below you will find contact information for the Learning Commons, Fall 2026 hours of operation, and an FAQ:

  • Starting September 1st, 2026, the Learning Commons will return to the same hours as last academic year.  Student staff will be present at the second-floor front desk during open hours.
    • Monday-Wednesday     8:00 am to 11:00 pm
    • Thursday                                8:00 am to 9:00 pm
    • Friday                                        8:00 am to 7:00 pm
    • Saturday                                 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
    • Sunday                                     12:00 pm to 11:00 pm
    • **Hours may change during holidays, Badger Football games, or other large-scale events at Camp Randall.

    • Who do I contact with questions?
    • Where can I check out a laptop?
      • Laptops, tablets, and other electronics can be checked out at various libraries around campus.  You can learn more about the availability of these resources here.
    • Where can I find desktop computers in the Learning Commons?
      • All technology, including computers and printers, have been moved to the first floor of the Learning Commons.
    • Can I print in the Learning Commons?
      • Yes, there are printers still available on the first floor of the Learning Commons in the Huber Lab. You will need to use funds from your Print Account for printing.
    • How can I reserve a breakout room?
      • Breakout rooms can be reserved through EMS by selecting “Business Learning Commons Breakout Room” when you go to make a reservation. New for this year, breakout rooms will be unlocked and reservable during Learning Commons hours.  Patrons reserving a breakout room will no longer need to check in at the front desk of the Learning Commons to get access to rooms.
    • Where is the Lost and found?
      • Until the completion of the first-floor renovation project, a Lost and Found drop box will continue to be located outside of the second-floor West entrance to the Learning Commons (nearest the 2020 Leske Family Admissions Suite and the West Atrium).   If you lose an item within Grainger Hall, please visit the Learning Commons front desk during open hours to retrieve your item.
    • Where can I return my library book?
    • Where are the books?
      • Books and other resources that used to be housed in the Learning Commons have been relocated to other libraries and library-controlled facilities across campus.
    • Can the BRITE Lab still access space in the Huber Lab for conducting research studies?
      • Yes! BRITE Lab researchers can still reserve space via EMS within the Huber Lab.
    • What can the Learning Commons front desk staff help me with?
      • Student staff can assist with questions about the Learning Commons, breakout room reservations, basic technology within the space, and other available resources. If they are unable to answer your question, they can help connect you with the appropriate WSB or campus resource.
    • What are the hours of the Business Study Cooperative and where is that located?
      • The Business Study Cooperative (BSC) continues to operate drop-in learning support for core business courses Monday-Thursday from 4-6pm in 2210 M/N (within the Learning Commons) during the academic year.  We also continue to offer scheduled 1-on-1 tutoring sessions for students through the BSC within the Learning Commons space.
