We were excited to have three undergraduate teams from UW-Madison compete in the 7th annual University Pitch Madness competition where they had a chance to win up to $4,000 in funding. Hosted by the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center, the event was held on Tuesday, July 16 at DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus where nine universities and 32 teams from the Midwest showcased their best student entrepreneurs.
Each team was provided with a table where attendees walked through and engaged with the students before voting for their favorite startup from each university. The top teams from each school presented a 3-minute pitch of their business to the entire audience and judges.
Canyon Pergande and Nick Lawton were the UW representatives selected to pitch their business idea, SideShift. They placed 2nd in the competition and won prize money totaling $3,000.
The other UW teams were Paul Adu representing Teksi and Jacob Dennis and Hadley Griffin-Schmidt representing Sprout.
The competition was a wonderful experience for all participants, staff and alumni that attended this event.
