Blair Wilson brings marketing mastery to the global sheet music leader

In his career, Blair Wilson (MBA ‘13) has developed marketing campaigns and promotional strategies for everything from health care to Wisconsin cheese. That versatility—along with the leadership skills he picked up from the Wisconsin School of Business—made him the perfect person to take on a brand-new challenge at the world’s largest sheet music publishing company.

As Hal Leonard’s first-ever chief marketing officer, Blair is tasked with accelerating the brand’s digital growth while also expanding into international markets.

While he’s always been interested in marketing, Blair says that getting an MBA was the spark he needed to take his career to the next level.

“It was transformational for me professionally and personally―gaining a network, being able to develop a wider view of an enterprise, and learning what it takes to help guide vision and growth for a company,” he says.

Throughout his career, he’s been proud to represent Wisconsin companies—including Hal Leonard and Sartori Company—and the roles they play in creating jobs and fostering civic engagement.

“Our work can be a means to help our communities,” he says.
