Virtual Winter Break Internship with Lincoln Property Company
January 11 – 14, 2021

A division of Lincoln Property Company, Lincoln Advisors is a boutique manager established to assist institutional clients invest directly in U.S. commercial real estate.
Seeking up to thirty (30) candidates to participate in a virtual internship series. The proposed schedule will be conducted in four (4), 45-minute sessions over the course of four (4) days, broken out into two cohorts. The dates for the program are January 11 – 14, 2021. The timing will be finalized dependent on student availability, but Cohort I will likely meet in the mornings and Cohort II will likely meet mid-day.
Virtual Intern Series includes:
Day 1 – Underwriting | Video call where Analysts can discuss our approach to deal underwriting and discuss some of the strategies that we are currently working on |
Day 2 – Asset Management | Video or conference calls with Asset Managers who will describe their day to day workflow and some of the skills AMs feel are beneficial to being an effective Asset Manager |
Day 3 – Acquisition/Disposition | Video calls where individuals from Lincoln Advisors discuss the transaction process of buying commercial real estate |
Day 4 – Capital Sourcing | Video or conference calls discussing the type of capital sources we work with, and how do we go about attracting new capital sources. |

Young Real Estate Professionals of New York (YREPNY) Winter Commercial Real Estate Workshop
DECEMBER 14, 2020 (tentative start date)
You don’t have to be from New York to participate in this Virtual Winter Commercial Real Estate Workshop offered by the YREPNY. Wisconsin Real Estate alum Mike Strug is hosting this unique workshop starting the week of December 14th. Since the vast majority (95%) of the workshop is on demand, the start/end date can vary depending on the student’s schedule. As of November 22, 65 students from colleges around the country are participating in the Virtual Winter Workshop.
How to participate? Up to 15 undergraduate real estate students from UW-Madison can participate in the program on a first-come, first served basis. Please send a cover letter and resume to: lee.gottschalk@wisc.edu. The first 15 students to submit their completed cover letter and resume will be able to enroll.
Note that the program begins on December 14th and will run throughout the winter break. Most participation can be done at your own pace, however, participation in the weekly live Zoom sessions is highly recommended.
Students enrolled in the Virtual Winter Commercial Real Estate Workshop will:
- Read the daily morning message email from the Workshop leader, Mike Strug.
- Summarize several news articles from weekly commercial real estate industry publications.
- Attend a weekly live Zoom call featuring real estate industry guest speakers to discuss their paths in the CRE industry. This will be followed by networking among the student participants. Sessions will be recorded in case students can’t virtually attend.
- Watch recorded ‘interviews/conversations’ that with a variety of commercial real estate professionals as they explain their career pathways, job responsibilities and what types of skills and knowledge are needed in their jobs.
- Attend a roundtable discussion in January focusing on jobs and internships in the CRE industry.
- Participate in a children’s hospital toy drive fundraiser.
The YREPNY Summer Real Estate Workshop was very successful and connected over 90 college students and recent grads throughout the summer to network and learn more about the commercial real estate industry.
REAL BRIGHT SUMMIT – Building the Future of Real Estate
January 25-29, 2021
The REAL Bright Summit is a week-long virtual event for students that will serve a bright and diverse next generation of real estate industry leaders nationwide.
