Spring 2024
Greetings Alumni, Friends and Innovators,
As the campus bursts into full bloom, we are thrilled to share the latest chapter in our entrepreneurial journey. Welcome to the Spring 2024 edition of the Weinert Center newsletter!
After several years of relentless effort, Entrepreneurship has been elevated to a full major (previously it was a named option). The article, written by Clare Becker, provides more information on how the major came to fruition. Next, we applaud the resiliency, creativity, and impact that our graduating students have made by highlighting their achievements. Also featured is an inspiring story of a student entrepreneur, Jude Joerger. Prepare to be amazed!
We also introduce and welcome the newest member of the Weinert Center Hall of Fame: Mark Meester. Additionally, we share details about the Fellowship Trip to Fairway Independent Mortgage founded by advisory board member Steve Jacobson and the student winners of the Transcend Innovation Competition. We also caught up with one of our esteemed alumni, Brandon Shields.
Last, but not least, we bid farewell to Phil Greenwood. After two decades of shaping minds and fostering entrepreneurial spirit, Phil is retiring. His impact resonates in every student he taught and in every dream realized. We wish him all the best in the next stage of his life!
We extend our deepest gratitude to each of you. Your support fuels our mission, and together, we will continue to cultivate innovation, resilience, and boundless possibilities.
Stay curious and stay entrepreneurial!
Sincerely,
Martin
