Fall 2020
Greetings Alumni and Friends of the Weinert Center,
We would like to share with you our exciting fall activities. In this newsletter, you can find updates about our ongoing programs such as the 100-Hour Challenge and the Business & Entrepreneurship (B&E) Clinic and new programs such as the Creative Destruction Lab class. We also describe a session on the value of an entrepreneurship major in the business world that was held with three of our alumni touting how our innovative classes helped them to form their entrepreneurial mindset when they started out on their own or worked for an established business. We hope you will enjoy reading these inspiring stories about our students, alums, and board members. We are particularly thrilled to welcome the Creative Destruction Lab and collaborate on the introduction of this impactful activity to our campus community. It is an initiative that will provide numerous learning opportunities for our students and will help to connect our entrepreneurs with the Lab’s global network of experts. Wisconsin is the ninth location of the program around the world.
We became more proficient in delivering our programs online this semester, but we are enthusiastically looking forward to getting back to interacting with our students face-to-face. While the pandemic continues to take a significant toll on our communities, the end is in sight. The introduction of new vaccines and treatments in record time is another triumph of human innovativeness and entrepreneurial spirit. We are proud to have the opportunity to help our students on their entrepreneurial journey. However, this would not be possible without you! We are thankful to all our stakeholders that make our mission of fostering the entrepreneurial mindset of our students possible.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
Martin
