Jenna Herr currently serves as Director of Risk Management and Insurance for Equity Residential. In this role, she is instrumental in helping the real estate investment company “Take Educated Risks.” Jenna is a trusted advisor, collaborating across functions to provide guidance on risk management policies and procedures, contractual risk transfer, safety, claims, and insurance strategy and placement for EQR’s portfolio of 80,000 apartments. Before joining EQR, Jenna was a Sr. Risk and Compliance Specialist for Kearney, a global management consulting firm, where she oversaw the company’s insurance, compliance, and enterprise risk management.
Passionate about cultivating the next generation of risk management and insurance leaders, Jenna actively pays forward the mentorship she has received. She is deeply involved in the risk management community, contributing through her participation in the Badger network, RIMS, Rising Risk Professionals, and the Spencer Educational Foundation. She obtained a BBA in Finance and Economics through the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, and earned an MBA with a specialization in Risk Management and Insurance through the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2024, Jenna was recognized as one of Wisconsin School of Business’s “8 to Watch” and she remains a proud and active alumna of the business school.
