Introducing the 2026 BBA Graduation Celebration Student Speaker – Bella Shim, BBA ’26

The Wisconsin School of Business is proud to announce Bella Shim as the 2026 BBA Graduation Celebration student speaker. Bella, a native of Glenview, Illinois, and graduate of Glenbrook South High School, has made a lasting impact at UW–Madison through her leadership, involvement, and commitment to building community among her peers.

Throughout her time at Wisconsin, Bella held leadership roles across multiple student organizations, serving on the leadership boards of the Real Estate Club, Women in Business, and the UW Club Gymnastics Team. Across each of these communities, she demonstrated a passion for collaboration, mentorship, and empowering fellow students to grow both personally and professionally.

After graduation, Bella will begin her professional journey as an Acquisitions Analyst at Blue Vista Capital Management in Chicago, Illinois. She attributes her success to the strong network of support that shaped her undergraduate experience and extends heartfelt thanks to her parents, Angela and Steve Shim, for their constant encouragement, as well as the Career Engagement Studio faculty for their mentorship and guidance over the past four years.

In her commencement address, Bella will celebrate the shared experiences that have defined the graduating class and reflect on the ways the Wisconsin community has supported, challenged, and inspired its students. Her message encourages graduates to carry forward the spirit of connection and leadership as they step into the next chapter of their lives and continue lifting others along the way.

“We were supported, challenged, and lifted by this community, and now it’s our turn to lift the next generation of Business Badgers.”

Each attendee is allowed one small clutch purse (6.5” x 4.5”) and one large clear bag, either a one-gallon clear gallon-sized storage bag or a 12”x6”x12” clear tote bag. Signage outside the Kohl Center will instruct graduates and guests on the building carry-in policy.

All items and guests are subject to search. Storage is not available for checking prohibited items. Items left at gates will be disposed of.

Changes in national, regional, or local security levels may affect security procedures at Commencement, and we appreciate your understanding with any last-minute changes that may occur.

Apply to Graduate

Students must apply for graduation to attend the ceremony and receive their diploma. You are required to complete the application, even if you have missed the deadline for your name to be listed in the program.

Post-Graduation Survey

Please fill out this Post-Graduation Survey sharing with us your plans after graduation. The data helps inform students of what makes an offer competitive, so by completing this survey, you will help us help future Badgers.

Prohibited items include signs, flags, sticks, noisemakers or bullhorns.

Accessible parking at the Kohl Center is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that disabled plates and/or hang-tags are required to secure space in lots reserved for accessible Commencement weekend parking. The best lots with ADA stalls are Lot 48 and Lot 87. These lots will be staffed by Transportation Services. Guests will not need a special permit, just the standard disabled plates or hang-tag.

Drop-off locations

The drop-off location for the Kohl Center is on Dayton Street directly in front of the building at Gate A. Guest services personnel will have wheelchairs available for transportation from the Dayton Street drop-off location to the Kohl Center seating area. Wheelchairs are for transportation purposes only and cannot be used for patron seating during the ceremony. Anyone in need of wheelchair services can call Guest Services at 608-263-5645 on the day of the ceremony. Guest Services staff will be available at gates and accessible drop-off points to assist guests within the stadium.

Seating accommodations

If guests are in need of accessible seating or assistance, we recommend arriving early as the seating will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible seating is limited to only those guests who require it. The seats will be for the person with accessible needs and for one companion. No pre-ticketing will occur for accessible seating.

Wheelchair seating locations

Wheelchair escorts to and from seats and gates are available through Guest Services, located in the Kohl Concourse near Section 119. Wheelchair and wheelchair companion locations are located throughout the main level concourse (Kohl Concourse or 100 level), and the upper level (Kellner Concourse or 200 level). Due to the high demand during this event, wheelchairs will be provided only for transport purposes.

Emergency alerts

Two message boards, located at opposite sides of the bowl, will relay general information and messages that are broadcast over the Public Address system. In case of an emergency, strobe lights will help alert the deaf and those who are hard of hearing. Emergency messages will also be posted on the Kohl Center scoreboard.
