Summer 2024
Greetings Alumni, Friends, and Innovators,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer! We are excited to share the Summer 2024 edition of the Weinert Center newsletter with you.
In this issue, we feature inspiring stories about student and alumni entrepreneurs, including SideShift, Chocolate Rescue for Dogs, Rooms and Shaw Sneaker. These startups share a common trait: their founders identified a problem and developed creative solutions to address it.
We also highlight the 2024 Morgridge Entrepreneurial Bootcamp (MEB), which marks a milestone with over 1,000 program alumni. Additionally, we have stories about the many speakers and alumni who have generously returned to share their experiences and insights with our current students through the Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch and the Think Like an Entrepreneur programs.
In our Board Member News, we feature serial entrepreneur and leader Paul Shain. He shares insights about his career, his time at UW, and his ongoing efforts to enhance the university as an alum.
We extend our deepest gratitude to each of you. Your support fuels our mission, and together, we will continue to cultivate innovation, resilience, and boundless possibilities.
Have a great rest of the summer!
Sincerely,
Dan
