In 2024, Joe Cruse joined Chewy as Director of Marketing Finance. This new role allows him to use his finance, analytics and branding experience to make an impact in the creative marketing space.
Joe brings a wealth of finance experience, having served in leadership roles with Amazon for over eight years. His last role with Amazon was Director of Finance – Buy with Prime. Prior this role, he was Head of Finance for Amazon’s e-commerce consumer business in Canada. His business unit finance functions included business partnership, strategy, analysis projects, long range strategic & capital planning, FP&A, and tax & public policy interaction, to support one of Amazon’s fastest growing marketplaces across several sourcing and selling channels. Joe led a team of 14, including analysts and people managers. Joe also had worked for six years as the Senior Finance Manager at Amazon.
Prior to Amazon, Joe was the Director of Finance at DISH Network, where he joined the Corporate Finance team in 2009. Joe’s primary focus was to improve the company’s pricing, product, and marketing strategy through customer segmentation and profitability analysis. During his time with DISH, he built a Marketing & Product Finance organization that supported the Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Financial Officer simultaneously. Joe also had an added role and responsibility of corporate fiscal planning and M&A support.
Joe received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009 and is an alumnus of the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Carleton College in Minnesota.
