With an enhanced roster and a refined set of priorities, the Wisconsin Business Alumni (WBA) Board is poised to grow the impact and connectivity of the Business Badger alumni community.
Nearly 30 members from a variety of professional backgrounds and regions make up the board’s roster for the 2024-25 academic year. WSB Impact Award recipient Amy Jo Pedone (BBA ’96) continues to serve as the board’s chair, while returning board member Rodrigo Stabio (MBA ’19) begins a term as vice chair.
The WBA Board has been a longstanding resource to help WSB advance its strategic priorities, enhance its engagement with the alumni community, and provide critical perspectives on a variety of topics and initiatives. Over the past year, many stakeholders—including WSB leadership, staff, and alumni—have worked to redefine the board’s structure, priorities, and objectives.
“After an eight-month taskforce project, we have officially reimagined and kicked off a new WBA Board structure to help facilitate a best-in-class alumni experience,” says Pedone. “We have positioned the board to have a broader impact and more meaningful engagement, and have an energetic group of members who are excited to share their business acumen to achieve our goals and objectives.”
Through the new structure, members are now assigned to specific cohorts within the board, each tasked with achieving specific, strategic outcomes. Key priorities for the board include activating regional alumni networks, opening new doors to industry, and engaging young alumni—which is something that appealed to new board member Sam Komisar (BBA ’23).
“My time at WSB helped me find out who I was and showed me what I can become,” says Komisar. “This is a journey that doesn’t end at graduation. I joined the board to ensure that young alumni feel supported in the new phase of their journey, and to show them the impact young Badgers can have in this world when we commit to lift each other up.”
