Calling all Business Badgers! The Wisconsin School of Business seeks your nominations for two alumni awards: the Distinguished Business Alumni Award and the WSB Impact Award. Both awards recognize individuals who have achieved impact in their careers and in their communities through demonstrated leadership, service, and other accomplishments.
“The Wisconsin School of Business alumni network is full of people who are not only successful in their careers, but who also give back to ensure the success of others,” says Betsy Lundgren (BA ’03, MA ’05), director of alumni relations at WSB. “These awards are just one way for us to honor deserving Business Badgers—and peer submissions are a great way for us to discover them.”
Distinguished Business Alumni Award
The Distinguished Business Alumni Award honors an individual with an exceptional career who has made far-reaching impacts in their community, their industry, and at UW–Madison. This award is intended for late- and post-career professionals. Previous recipients of this award include Fred Petri (BBA ’69, MBA ’70), a nationally renowned real-estate professional who helped establish and name the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at WSB.
WSB Impact Award
The WSB Impact Award recognizes an individual who has volunteered their expertise, time, and talent to advance the Wisconsin School of Business, and has demonstrated service to the school through one or more of the following criteria:
- A track record of regular engagement with WSB students through classroom or extracurricular activities like speaking events, networking panels, or company visits and career treks.
- Service on a board, such as the Wisconsin Business Alumni Board or WSB’s External Advisory Board.
- A corporate partnership with WSB, either through a recruiting relationship or other employer-development efforts.
Nominations for both awards are due by Tuesday, April 16. A committee will review all nominees and make selection recommendations to school leadership. Award recipients will be notified in June.
