Consider the following two scholarships as the spring semester kicks off! The Troxell-Glicksman Award is open to students of any school and requires nomination by faculty or staff. The Paul R. Ebling Scholarship seeks to support aspiring medicine students that are in their final year of undergraduate study.
Troxell-Glicksman Award Nomination
The Louise Troxell and Edna Kerngood Glicksman awards recognize female junior or senior undergraduates who demonstrate excellence in intellectual ability and curiosity, engaged citizenry, appreciation of the world and participation in its affairs. While junior women are eligible, award recipients have more traditionally been seniors due to their more robust resumes of on-campus service and leadership. Only on-campus, U.S. citizens are considered.
Mrs. Louise Troxell was Dean of Women on this campus from 1931 until 1956 and Edna Kerngood Glicksman was an early 20th century leader in the state League of Women Voters and the State Federation of Women’s Clubs. The Louise Troxell and Edna Kerngood Glicksman awards were established to honor their outstanding leadership and devotion to the cause of women on our campus and in the community. Women selected as finalists are generally of high academic caliber, very active on campus and/or in community activities and are usually aspiring to continue their education in graduate or professional schools.
After the nomination is submitted students are invited to submit additional materials. Up to 10 candidates are selected for an interview. Awardees are announced in late April. Awards range from &250-$1,000 depending on the number of awardees selected.
Faculty and staff may nominate up to 3 candidates each: Nominations open 1/21-2/14/2020
