Ben Wright serves as the Chief Underwriting Officer at American Family Insurance in Madison, WI, where he oversees the strategic direction and execution of Product Management, Product Development, Actuarial & Data Science, and Analytics for American Family’s property & casualty lines of business.
A 24-year veteran of American Family, Wright has held various positions with increasing levels of responsibility across actuarial, finance, risk management, underwriting, product management, and product development. Prior to his current role, Wright served as the SVP, Chief Underwriting Officer at Homesite, a home insurance company within American Family Insurance Group, and Vice President of Personal Lines Product Management at American Family Insurance.
Wright is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a BBA degree in actuarial science. Outside of work, he is a husband and father of two teenage girls, an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and fishing, and a lover of classical music, particularly works for the violin. Wright and his wife are also strong advocates of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, United Way, the American Family Children’s Hospital, and individuals and families living with autism.
