James R. Imhoff Jr. was the CEO of First Weber from 1978 until 2018 when he became Chairman. He served in this capacity until 2021 when he became Chairman Emeritus. First Weber was acquired by HomeServices Berkshire Hathaway in 2015 and Jim continued as CEO until 2018. With over 70 offices and over 1400 professionals in Wisconsin, First Weber is the state’s largest Real Estate firm. Since 2005, First Weber has averaged over $2 billion in sales annually. Between 2015 and 2021, the firm was annually involved in over 15,000 units with annual volume in excess of $3 billion.
RIS Media and Real Trends have consistently recognized First Weber for being in the top 30 largest real estate firm in the U.S. and largest in Wisconsin from 2009 through 2021. Jim has maintained his Wisconsin Real Estate license since 1971. He held leadership roles at both the Madison Board Realtors, Wisconsin Realtors Association, and the National Association of Realtors.
In 1994, James was appointed to the Real Estate Board of the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing by Governor Tommy Thompson. He was elected Chairman in 1995, where he served until August of 2002. Jim was recognized in the Swanepoel Report as one of the 200 most powerful people in residential real estate in the U.S. in 2015 and 2016. He serves on the Advisory Board of the UW-Madison’s Graaskamp Center for Real Estate and Marquette University’s Real Estate Center.
