Josh Berman is an accomplished insurance professional with extensive experience in underwriting and managing complex corporate accounts. As Team Lead for the Midwest Region, Public D&O team at Zurich North America, Josh focuses on underwriting Directors and Officers and Transactional Liability coverages for a diverse portfolio of publicly traded Fortune 100 companies. He assists in managing the Midwest Region, overseeing large, complex accounts, leading projects, and developing junior underwriters.

At Zurich North America, Josh has been recognized as a top writer of new business, a three-time consecutive Cross-Sell Winner, and achieved the highest nationwide Underwriting Quality Assessment scores.

Before joining Zurich North America, Josh spent five years at The Hartford, first as a Product Manager, and then as a Senior Underwriter within the Financial and Executive Liability Group. During this time, Josh managed public and large private company accounts, showcasing his depth of expertise in insurance products such as Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Crime/Fidelity. Notably, he played a pivotal role as the lead underwriter in re-underwriting the Hartford/Navigators portfolio of large private companies with over $1 billion in annual revenue.

Josh earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and his MBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He began his insurance career at GEICO, where he was selected for the Management Development Program and was recognized with the “GEICO Corporate Claims Quality Award.” Throughout his tenure at GEICO, Josh held management roles covering key aspects of insurance operations, including product management, product development, and claims management.

In his leisure time, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and indulges in his passions for travel, running, Pilates, and avidly supporting the Badgers during basketball and football seasons.
