Puneet Pasricha, popularly known as Pasha, is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty General Insurance in Malaysia, part of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.
With over 22 years of experience working across the US, India and Malaysia in setting up new businesses, strategy & business planning, M&A, distribution, operations management and transformation, Pasha has made significant contributions to the industry. His success to lead through transformative change has pivoted around integrity, putting people first, execution discipline, strategic alignment and effective collaboration.
He has been with Liberty Mutual for over 20 years beginning his career in the Corporate Development Program. He was instrumental in Liberty Mutual’s India entry strategy, and was the first person to set up the company’s operations in India. Pasha joined Liberty Malaysia operations in 2019 as Chief Operating Officer, leading Claims and Operations. In 2020, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Insurance, Malaysia.
As CEO, Pasha has been instrumental in formulating and executing strategic initiatives for the company. This included effectively managing and engaging with Board of Directors and Regulators, navigating the challenges of employee engagement throughout the pandemic period, and spearheading the transformation for Liberty Malaysia to thrive in a digital marketplace. He played a critical role in the merger between AmGeneral and Liberty Insurance, which has positioned Liberty in the top 3 general insurers in Malaysia. While leading the company with a clear focus on profitable growth, he is also managing the transformation as the company integrates two operations across culture, systems, and business practices.
Throughout his career, Pasha has received several awards recognizing his contributions. He was named the Most Inspiring Leader at the Employee Experience Awards 2022 and was acknowledged for his efforts in digital transformation, receiving an award in the Operational Excellence category at the IDC DX awards. He has also participated in Liberty Mutual’s Executive Development Program for high-performing managers.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics in Mumbai, India, a Master’s in Accounting and Financial Economics from the University of Essex in England, and an MBA in Risk Management and Insurance & Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Pasha lives with his wife, Shefali, and two daughters, Sanna and Simran, in Kuala Lumpur. As a family they love to travel and aim to visit at least 50 countries together.
