Steve Jacobson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a BBA in Management and played basketball all 4 years, was All Academic Big Ten Senior Year and Co-Captain UW Basketball- Senior Year.
Upon graduation Steve worked for Waterfield Financial Corporation as a Branch Manager, Senior VP, and National Sales Director.
Steve states “When we started Fairway, 10 years ago, in a buddy’s spare bedroom in Dallas, Texas, we didn’t have any expectations on where we would be a decade down the road. Joel Hammond and I were just two guys trying to survive in a precarious and competitive industry. We didn’t envision growth. It was all about survival.
Since 1996, Fairway has been extremely fortunate, becoming one of the country’s top 10 mortgage producers three out of the last five years. And as we looked toward the future and considered strategies for the company’s continued growth, it was the unique stories of seven top Fairway people that sparked the formation of an Executive Committee.
This committee is comprised of people with very diverse and unique backgrounds, who have earned the respect of their peers. They are, in my opinion, the cornerstone of our leadership for Fairway’s future, and I value each and every one of their opinions. As a group, they will function as a sounding board to foster ideas that will help Fairway thrive.”
