We are proud to announce that the undergraduate program had four students apply for and receive a spot in the 2024-2025 Ferguson Fellow class. The Ferguson Center for Leadership Excellence is an educational program that helps racially, ethnically, and gender-diverse students pursue their undergraduate degrees and secure promising careers in real estate or related industries. The prestigious program helps seniors with scholarships, course curriculum assistance, and mentorship opportunities.
Two students were selected among 40 others for a tuition scholarship of up to $10,000. Angelo Alfaro, a finance and real estate student, and Penny Berens, a finance student, were selected. When asked about how the Fellowship has impacted him, Angelo responded “The Ferguson Fellowship has been a catalyst for my understanding of the profound impact of diverse perspectives in fostering collaboration and driving transformative change within our communities.” Penny applied for the Fellowship for the networking opportunities: “I joined Ferguson Fellows to not only learn industry relevant skills, but to be part of a network of like minded peers pursuing a career in commercial real estate. The scholarship from this program will additionally support my learning and career.”
Two other students, Lucy Allen and Grace Tuttle, were selected as additional Fellows due to their strong applications. This year, the Leadership Academy was expanded to additional students because of the strong applicant pool.
All students are able to participate in the leadership academy with a certified life coach, industry mentors, training and development resources, and career services support. The 2024-2025 Fellowship class kicked off with an event on November 30th.
