Spring Career Fair Brings Together Students, Employers

On February 13, the Wisconsin Real Estate Club hosted 24 employers in Varsity Hall at Union South for its Spring 2024 Real Estate Club Career Fair. With over 175 students in attendance, there was a buzz of activity, with plenty of connections being made between students and employer representatives.

The fair was organized by the Real Estate Club in collaboration with the Graaskamp Center for Real Estate and the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA). The strength of the Wisconsin connection with alumni was evident, with UW alumni making up more than half of the employer representatives present.

Student and employer attendees alike reported a positive experience at the fair. Russell Aivazian, Director of Early Career Recruiting for the Americas at JLL, said, “This is one of my favorite fairs to attend because the students are all well prepared, engaged, and are incredibly impressive. I don’t know what the REC does to prepare everyone, but it seems to be working!”

In addition to connecting with potential employers, students could meet with the Wisconsin School of Business MBA & Masters Career Services team for on-site advice and encouragement. Assistant Director of Career Management Laura Berkan shared her perspective on the experience: “We are passionate about lifting our students up, forging meaningful relationships with them, then linking them to employers ready to welcome them onto their teams. Having a front row seat to watch them at their best while providing real-time support to navigate their next connection wasn’t just awesome – it’s why we do the work we do!”

The student organizers would like to thank the Graaskamp Center and WREAA for their support and assistance, as well as the employers and students who attended. The Real Estate Club intends to hold its Fall Career Fair in September 2024.
