Student Experience

BBA Graduation Speaker, Corinne Wright, Shares Advice with Future Business Badgers

By Wisconsin School of Business

May 5, 2025

With a notable cohort of students earning degrees from the Wisconsin School of Business this spring, we considered what insights this accomplished group might offer the next generation of Business Badgers.

Corinne Wright, a graduating Business Emerging Leaders (BEL) scholar with a double major in marketing and management, seemed like the ideal person to ask. Her impressive involvement includes leadership roles in Women in Business; presidency of the National Pan-Hellenic Council; and internships with Wilson Sporting Goods, Wisconsin Football, and Adidas. Adding to her achievements, she will also serve as the student speaker for the BBA Graduation Celebration.

What advice would you give to incoming Business Badgers?

Transcript

My advice to incoming Business Badgers would be to take up space but make room for others while you’re here. So, confidently own the spaces and the rooms that you occupy and the contributions you make to that room. And while you’re there, be intentional in creating a path for others to follow, especially those who may feel less seen and less heard.

Also, avoid the urge to compare yourself to others, which can be hard, but understand that your path is uniquely yours and the opportunities that are meant for you cannot and will not miss you. While you’re here at the Wisconsin School of Business, the journey you are seeking will also be seeking you.
