Post-master’s career goal:
Data Analyst
Why choose Wisconsin?
I did my undergraduate degree at UW-Madison, and I know how supportive and uplifting the UW community is. While in undergrad, I learned a lot about what it means to be an independent adult in a diverse and inclusive community. Having had so many foundational experiences here, I really wanted to continue to be a part of the UW community in my master’s program as well. I chose the MSBA program because I really enjoyed working with data while working as a research specialist, but found myself a little lacking in the skills required to be a good analyst. The MSBA program seemed to be a perfect fit for what I was looking to learn.
Advice:
I would advise them to connect with the admissions staff and current students to learn more about the community here, what the program has to offer, and see if it is a right fit for them. Before applying, I spoke with the admissions staff and Cody Baldwin who were very kind enough to help me know more about the course. I was even able to sit in a cloud computing class to see if it was something that I really wanted learn. I also connected with a few MSBA alumni and the then current students who helped me understand the culture of the program and business school. All these interactions really helped me cement my decision to come back to Madison.
Fun fact:
I love cats! I have two–one black and one orange. I even have them tattooed on my arm!
