Real Estate Students Awarded Prestigious Scholarships and Fellowships for the 2023-24 Academic Year

We’re proud of our Real Estate students who have been awarded prestigious scholarships, awards and fellowships this year from a variety of organizations.

Gabrielle Swider (Real Estate MS ‘24), Recipient of the 2023-2024 RENEW Scholarship 

Gabrielle Swider was selected by the Founding Sponsors and Board of Real Estate Network Empowering Women (RENEW) to receive one of this year’s RENEW Scholarships.  RENEW was founded to inspire, empower, and advance women in commercial real estate finance through distinctive programs, networking, and scholarship opportunities. The $5,000 scholarship for the 2023 – 2024 academic year to continue their studies in real estate and finance programs. 

Congratulations to Gabrielle Swider for her outstanding achievement in being awarded the prestigious RENEW Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. This recognition reflects Gabrielle’s exceptional dedication and academic prowess, positioning her as a promising trailblazer in her field. As a RENEW Scholar, Gabrielle joins a select cohort of individuals committed to driving positive change through their innovative ideas and unwavering passion. This accomplishment speaks volumes about Gabrielle, and we look forward to witnessing her future contributions. 

Blair Steele (Real Estate MS ’23), Selected as a Goldie Scholar from the Goldie Initiative and NAREIM Fellowship 

Blair Steele has received the honor of being selected as a Goldie Scholar for the 2023-2024 academic year. This honor comes with a scholarship, exclusive networking opportunities, and the opportunity to be mentored by current industry leaders. Steele joins an esteemed group of Goldie Scholars from the Wisconsin Real Estate Program, and she is one of 34 women recognized in this year’s class of Goldie Scholars. The Goldie Initiative identifies women who demonstrate excellence both in and outside of the classroom. Beyond having top-tier academics, the winners have distinguished themselves with essays, recommendations, and personal interviews.  

In addition, Blair has been selected to receive the National Association on Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM) Jeff Barclay Fellowship for the 2023-2024 academic year. This fellowship is awarded to five outstanding graduate students to nurture the next generation of real estate investment management business leaders through unique learning and networking opportunities.

Both awards are testaments to Blair’s achievements and dedication to the Real Estate Industry. Both the scholarship and fellowship acknowledge Blair’s scholastic aptitude and indicate her potential to contribute to her field and society. 

Clarke Mouw (Real Estate MS ’24), Recipient of the ICSC Scholarship 

Clarke Mouw, a graduate student pursuing an M.S. in Real Estate, is a recipient of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) $10,000 Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year. ICSC is a global trade association that focuses on the shopping center industry. ICSC is a member organization for industry advancement and serves as a platform for professionals, organizations, and stakeholders involved in various aspects of retail real estate. The organization facilitates networking opportunities, provides education and resources, and hosts events. This achievement highlights Clarke’s commitment and academic success, positioning him as a promising contributor in his field.

Charles Bennett (BBA ’26), Jordyn Dellis (BBA ’25), and Linh Tran (MBA ’24), Recipients of the 2023 WREAA Scholarships 

Charles Bennett, Jordyn Dellis, and Linh Tran have been awarded the 2023 Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) Scholarships. Charles and Jordyn were selected to receive the Undergraduate scholarships and Linh the Graduate Scholarship. Their exceptional application to their studies has earned them this recognition. As recipients of the WREAA scholarship, Charles, Jordyn, and Linh join emerging Wisconsin real estate professionals who exhibit immense potential for contributing to the industry’s growth. The WREAA is the largest real estate alumni association, and it supports the UW’s Real Estate Program to enhance career and business opportunities for its graduates. It provides a forum for networking interactions in social, employment and educational fields.  

 
Brianna Lamee (MBA ’24), Recipient of the 2023 Dianne M. Orbison Memorial Scholarship Award 

Brianna Lamee has been chosen to receive the 2023 Dianne M. Orbison Memorial Scholarship Award. One $5,000 Scholarship Award is available to a female full-time graduate or undergraduate student majoring in real estate each year. Criteria to be considered in making this scholarship award include community service, enterprise management skills, leadership, curiosity, love of learning, sense of humor, common sense, and ability to rise to a challenge. Brianna demonstrates all these attributes and more. This scholarship award is intended to inspire undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni of the real estate program as they pursue their personal and career goals.
