Women in Real Estate (WIRE) is excited to kick off another semester of events and networking in the Wisconsin School of Business! Tuesday, September 28th was our first meeting where over 60 women interested in real estate gathered for the first time in-person since 2020. The executive board put together a short presentation to introduce themselves, shared the Fall semester calendar, and provided women with the tools to stay connected with WIRE throughout the semester. Our speakers were two real estate professionals from Plante Moran who presented about the REIA division of the company, their experiences in the industry, and an internship opportunity for members to apply for.
WIRE was fortunate to receive a sponsorship from Compass Properties located in Madison, WI this year. Compass is committed to helping organizations that empower women in the real estate industry. Their funds will go towards our tentative trip to Chicago in the spring where members will have the unique opportunity to network with professionals in the corporate environment. We are so grateful for Compass Properties and look forward to continuing the mission of WIRE with the help of their donation.
WIRE is committed to building a community of women wishing to pursue real estate careers and to connect these women with professionals, therefore promoting confidence and success in a male-dominated industry. We strive to connect students and alumni with the hopes of benefiting both parties. This semester will be busy and next semester is quickly filling up with speaker events. Membership has soared and we are excited to continue to grow and to reach more women in the school of business.
