We are deeply saddened by the passing of Scott Braucht, WAVE Board Member and dear friend of the Weinert Center. Scott served on the WAVE Board from the early 2000’s to his retirement in 2019. A kind, gentle and humble man, he enjoyed working with and providing valuable feedback and advice to our students as well as interacting with board members.
Scott had over 25 years of experience working with businesses, non-profit organizations and academic groups. He earned an undergraduate degree in communications and education from Iowa State University and an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Wisconsin School of Business. Most recently, he was the founder and president of Scott Braucht & Associates, a professional fundraising and management services company based in Madison. He wrote a book, Into the Light: A Middle-Aged Man’s Recovery from Depression, a first-hand account of his journey through depressive disorders. With help from the medical and counseling community, Scott was able to step out and recover, living a fulfilling life.
Scott is survived by his wife Mary, three sons, his mother and four siblings.
Thank you Scott for your considerable contributions to the WAVE Board and the entrepreneurial community. We will miss you!
