Few Badgers are as embedded in the Wisconsin School of Business as Joe Boucher (JD ’77; MBA ’78; CPA ‘82). Most current students know him as the sponsor of the popular weekly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch events. For students of his business law classes in the Executive MBA program, he is known as their approachable, genial instructor. And for others, he is the gold standard of entrepreneurs by being inducted into the Weinert Center Hall of Fame and an esteemed member of the WAVE Advisory Board.
Joe’s decades of service to the UW and the entire state of Wisconsin was recently recognized by being named the recipient of the Wisconsin Law Foundation’s 2020 Charles L. Goldberg Distinguished Service Award which honors a lifetime of service to the profession and the community. Joe was a founding father of LLC law in the state of Wisconsin and his contributions to establishing protections for small businesses have been invaluable to yielding today’s culture of entrepreneurship in Madison.
Joe Boucher is most deserving of this prestigious award and we are honored and proud of the many contributions he has made not only to the Weinert Center but the entire Wisconsin entrepreneurial community. Congratulations Joe!
