Biography
Derek Christensen, CPA, obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of Denver. Before entering the PhD program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he worked in advisory consulting for Deloitte (Denver). In this role his work focused on the intersection of technical accounting and internal controls. In a similar vein Derek’s research interests lie at the intersection of financial accounting standards and corporate decision-making. Particularly, Derek’s work examines how financial accounting standards change managerial incentives, the internal information environment, and the external information environment of the firm.
