Having Challenging Conversations Webinar

Join us for an invigorating exploration of the world of challenging conversations, those discussions we would rather not have but which are necessary for our work, families, and communities. This is a virtual event.

• To discover the core elements of challenging conversations, so we may approach them with greater clarity and confidence;
• To have some practical strategies to apply to the core challenges facing us in our work.
• To understand ways that skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus building may be readily applied to challenging conversations;
• To consider ways to facilitate discussions among others within the organization to address larger issues of trust, group dynamics, power, etc.
Harry Webne-Behrman has served as a facilitator, consultant, educator, and mediator for over 35 years. Along with his wife, Lisa Webne-Behrman, he served as Senior Partner of Collaborative Initiative, Inc., a private consulting and mediation firm based in Madison, Wisconsin from 1991-2017. Harry has worked with hundreds of teams, facilitating large-scale deliberation and engagement processes, as well as mediating interpersonal disputes.
Harry also worked with the University of Wisconsin-Madison in numerous capacities. Most recently, he served as Founding Director UW-Madison’s HR Communities of Practice Office. In that capacity, he led development of an array of new learning communities and competency-based certification pathways that support professional development of Human Resources staff across the UW-Madison campus. Harry received a B.S. in Economics, an M.S. in Higher Education Administration, and worked on doctoral studies in Educational Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
