Women In… Alumni Panel

Thursday, March 14 | 12:00pm 12:45pm

Women make up a very small proportion of the workforce in male dominated industries and are never able to catch up to the rate of male promotions. While there has been a steady increase of women entering male-dominated fields they continue to face challenges including lack of support, feeling incompetent, mistreatment, and lack of a voice, as shared by the Pew Research Center.  Historically women have been pigeonholed into lower paying and service-based fields associated with feminine traits (like kindness, and care work), however, they bring innovation and adaptability into typically male dominated industries. Women provide different perspectives on projects and instantly widen a talent pool. Research from Forbes magazine notes that there is often a direct correlation between more women in leadership positions and higher firm performance.

Join the Wisconsin MBA admissions team to learn about how our women alumni are making their voices heard in the male dominated industries – including tech, real estate, finance and engineering.

This virtual session will feature MBA alumni voices, including:

  • Janay Hull, MBA ’23, Associate Developer, Pennrose
  • Swaroopa Mallikarjuna, MBA ’23, Product Manager, Adobe
  • Erin Ralph, MBA ’23, Engineering Manager – Backhoes and Landscape Loaders, John Deere
  • Mary Roberts, MBA ’20, Corporate Development – Mergers and Acquisitions, AT&T
