Professor R.D. Nair Named to WEDC Board

Governor Scott Walker has appointed R.D. Nair, professor of accounting and information systems at the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), effective July 1, 2016. At the board meeting held at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point last week, Nair was also named chair of the Audit Committee, of which he had been a member since 2014.

Nair is a CPA and has been on the faculty of the Wisconsin School of Business since 1978, where he teaches primarily at the graduate level in the Wisconsin Executive MBA Program and the nationally top-ranked master of accountancy program, which he serves as faculty director. Nair was the executive director of the Wisconsin School of Business’s Center for International Business Education and Research from 1998 to 2004, where he was responsible for obtaining $2.5 million in federal funding. He also has served as chair of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, senior associate dean, and interim dean at the Wisconsin School of Business.
