Although she began grad school in the health care field, Hannah Lesko (MS ’23) quickly realized that she needed to switch career paths. After researching other programs—and remembering the coding work she did in her undergraduate program—Hannah found the perfect next step: WSB’s Master of Science-Business: Analytics (MSBA) program. Now, she’s putting her business expertise and analytics acumen to work as a commodity data analyst at Whole Foods Market.
Hannah works on the Global Commodities Team within the Exclusive Brands Team, which is the 365 brand by Whole Foods Market. Using data aggregation, data visualizations, and cost formulas, she conducts risk analysis, cost avoidance, and cost savings for current and future products.
As Hannah reflects on her career trajectory, she offers this advice to students: “It’s never too late to discover your true passions and switch career paths.” During her time in the MSBA program, not only did Hannah find her true passion, but she made some fond memories as well. “One time, the program took us ice fishing on Monona Bay. It was awesome because I had never been fishing before—let alone ice fishing!”
In her free time, you’ll find Hannah going for an early-morning run, paddleboarding with friends, and enjoying her favorite Whole Foods products: 365 Organic Kansas City Love Barbeque Sauce and fresh garlic bread.
